Marilyn
(Sudden onset hearing loss; one sided)
Yes, there are still compassionate healthcare workers willing to listen and better yet, lend assistance!
On July 27, 2018, I experienced sudden onset hearing loss in one ear with miserable tinnitus (unfortunately the tinnitus is relentless). I realized that sudden hearing loss is an emergency situation and the sooner I was seen by a specialist the better ~ no easy feat in today’s healthcare system! If it weren’t for Jenny, a compassionate assistant of Dr. Randall Lomax, taking the time to hear me, my symptoms, how frightened I was/am…well, I’d still be waiting to see an ENT. After Jenny and I spoke, I then spoke with Jill, another caring professional…their audiologist. Because of Jenny and Jill’s kindness, I was seen by Dr. Lomax on August 1, 2018. Dr. Lomax was professional, calming, caring and started the ball rolling.
Jackie, another thoughtful staff member, took no time in scheduling me for the MRI and even managed to get prior insurance authorization before the MRI scan on August 7th…I’m impressed. By August 8th, Jackie already scheduled my first appointment with another ENT specialist (who worked me in) so I could have my first steroid injection in the ear. All of this is being done in hopes of regaining some of my lost hearing. Timing is critical as there is only a 5-6 week window for possible success…I remain hopeful.
I am exceedingly pleased to share, with certainty, that my experience/s with Dr. Lomax and his awesome staff at Advanced, Ear, Nose and Throat have been nothing but positive during a very stressful time for me fraught with unknowns.
The level of customer-service excellence experienced is impressive; I am now spoiled by such treatment. I wish to thank you all for taking such good care of me; I am forever grateful.
